I've been repairing stringed instruments since 1995. I actually graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in December 1994. However, I grew up with music all my life. From my parents exposing me to their music to my first guitar, it didn't take long for music to become a huge part of me. I played in bands throughout high school and college.
After graduation, I took a job at the local music store while I was interviewing for an Engineering job. I started studying under a few local luthiers, and the rest, as they say, is history. I've been doing it ever since, and never looked back. My engineering background and attention to detail no doubt are attributes I've applied to the preservation of stringed instruments over the years.
