A PARTIAL LIST OF SERVICES
These are some of the most common repairs and modifications performed at
Costello Guitar Works
Many of these services are pretty straightforward in terms of the process and pricing. Many instruments require an inspection to accurately provide a cost estimate and an explanation of the process involved in the repair.
STANDARD SETUP
Standard setup includes electric guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, and ukulele.

SPECIALTY SETUP
Specialty setups include guitars with locking bridges, 12 strings, and mandolins.
REPLACEMENT NUTS AND SADDLES
Bone is a popular choice, but there are many materials to choose from, depending on the instrument and playing preferences. Nuts and saddles are custom cut to fit your specific instrument.
FRETWORK
Frets are like tires on a car - eventually they wear out. Sometimes frets just need to be leveled to eliminate dead spots or sharp edges. With enough wear, it's time to install new frets.
BRIDGE WORK
On many acoustic instruments, eventually the bridge either comes loose or comes off. In many cases, the bridge can be reattached. If the bridge itself is damaged, a new custom cut bridge is made to replace the original bridge.
STRUCTURAL REPAIRS
Common structural repairs include loose binding, headstock breaks, cracks, loose fingerboards, and more.
NECK RESETS
Over years of use, the angle of the the neck can change, causing a higher string height. Not all guitars are constructed to be disassembled, but many are, and in those cases, the pitch of the neck can be changed to bring the string height back into spec.
ELECTRONICS AND MODS
Electronics mods include pickup removal and replacement, swapping out pots, switches and jacks, wiring modifications, and custom routing to accommodate new components.
